Virgin Coconut Oil

Coconut (Cocos Nucifera) is commonly used in Malaysia and other neighboring countries including Thailand and Philippines as a food source an the oil is used as complementary medicine. Virgin Coconut Oil is obtained from the process of cold extraction or ‘coldpress’ which does not use chemicals, bleach or deodorant agents, to maintain the natural taste and content of its bioactive components.

Lauric acid (MUFA) is a major contributor to the bioactive content of Virgin Coconut Oil, together with Vitamin E and polyphenols. Virgin Coconut Oil is high in medium chain fatty acids (MUFA). When digested, this MUFA is easily burned by the body and broken down into energy, unlike long chain fatty acids (PUFA) where it needs to go through the circulatory system before being used as energy.
